Upcoming Films & Reimagined Projects

1. The Boondock Saints Reimagining
   Flanery is returning as Connor MacManus in a new reimagining of The Boondock Saints.  Norman Reedus will also reprise his role as Murphy. This version is  being produced by Thunder Road Films & Dragonfly Films.
   • Troy Duffy (director of the original films) will not direct this one; instead, he’s focusing on writing Boondock Saints books. 
   • The story is expected to “introduce new Saints” alongside the returning brothers. 

1. Dexter (Season 8)
   Flanery has a recurring role in the upcoming Dexter season (Season 8). He will play Jacob Elroy, an ex-cop who owns a private investigation company in Miami.
2. Killing Mary Sue
   Released recently (June 2025 via VOD), but still relatively new. In this film, Flanery plays a character named Cable Henry. 

• Brian Mahoney is best known for playing Detective Duffy in The Boondock Saints.
• He’s had many supporting or character roles in films, often in small or bit parts. 

Here are some of the more recent films (post‑2010) he’s appeared in:

 · 2018 - First Man He appears as a Fire Inspector. 

 · 2018 Higher Power - He is credited as Bomb Squad Agent. 

 · 2015The Boy Next Door - Role: Couper 

 ·  2015 Furious 7 He appears in a small role. (Helicopter Pilot)

Projects in Development

1. The Blood Spoon Council
   • A psychological thriller that Duffy co‑wrote with Criss Lassiter. 
   • Story:  a vigilante group, named the Blood Spoon Council, hunts serial killers  across the U.S. The FBI commissions a young profiler to investigate, and  it turns into a cat‑and‑mouse game with the group’s elusive leader. 
   • Financing: Oceanside Media is involved. 
   • Status: No firm release date yet; casting and production details are pending. 

1. Boondock Saints TV Series “Origins” / Prequel
   • Duffy is writing and will direct the first episode of a proposed TV prequel (or origin story) series for The Boondock Saints. 
   • The  series will focus on the early days of Connor and Murphy MacManus,  presumably when they were younger/in their upbringing in South Boston. 
   • Original stars (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery) are in “early talks” to be involved as co‑executive producers. 

1. Boondock Saints III
   • A third Boondock Saints film is in the works; Duffy has been involved in the script. 
   • A twist: Duffy will not direct this sequel. 
   • Production start has been tentatively discussed for sometime in 2026 (or around then). 

1. Novel / Book Series: Boondock Saints “Blood Origin”
   • Duffy is writing a book series, with the first volume tentatively titled Boondock Saints: Blood Origin. It will offer a contemporary take on Connor & Murphy in “this day and age.” 

1. Other Film Ideas Mentioned
   Besides the above, some other ideas Duffy has floated include:
   • Rock ’Em Sock ’Em — described in press as a “90‑minute ballet of hardcore ass‑kickery.” 
   • Black Ghost — a “racially edgy comedy” he’s writing with Cedric the Entertainer.
